Overhead Power Line Clearance & Safety

When building, storing items and equipment, and planting trees on your property, always remember to watch for overhead power lines (don’t forget to call 811 before you dig to locate underground utilities). The tree you plant now could grow into nearby power lines in the years to come and become not only a potential hazard to the energized lines but to linemen, children, and tree trimmers as well. When planting new trees, keep in mind how tall the tree will grow at maturity, and plant accordingly to keep them well away from power lines. In addition, keep equipment, vehicles, and stored items outside of the clear zone. Thank you for helping to keep our linemen safe!
