Scholarships

The former first lady of the United States of America, Abigail Adams, once said, ”Learning is not attained by chance. It must be sought for with ardor and diligence.” At Beartooth Electric Cooperative (BEC), we couldn’t agree more, and we want to help those that are putting in the effort to further their education. In fact, for 2023, BEC has increased the individual Leadership Scholarship funding to $2,500 for service area high school seniors planning to continue their education at 2-year or 4-year colleges and universities. One scholarship will be awarded to a 2023 graduate of each of the 11 service area high schools and also to one home school graduate.

General Manager Kevin Owens stated, “One of the more fulfilling aspects of the competition is reviewing the personal statement essays we receive through our scholarship competition. Each year these essays reach a new level of excellence. I look forward this year’s review!”

Applicants, to get you started on your personal statement essay, we’ve posted samples on our website at www.beartoothelectric.com, under the Community Tab, Scholarships.

Eligibility Rules:

• The applicants or parent/guardian MUST be a resident of Montana and a member of BEC.
• The applicant must be a graduating high school senior entering the first year in college or a vocational-technical training institution.
• The scholarship may be used at a Montana college/university or vocational-technical school, or an out-of-state institution.

Applications must be received by BEC no later than February 10, 2023.

The deadline is February 10, 2023.
