Beartooth Electric’s 2021 trustee candidate filing period officially opens January 1 for District 4 (Roberts, Red Lodge Luther area) and District 6 (Absarokee, Columbus, Nye area) for full three-year terms and District 3 (Red Lodge, Roberts area) for the remaining two-year term. Trustee elections take place at the annual member meeting, May 1, 2021, currently planned as a ZOOM and Facebook LIVE meeting. BEC members living in Districts 4, 6 and 3 interested in running for the BEC Board of Trustees have until March 12, 2021 to declare their candidacies.

Board members, elected by members, demonstrate veracity and principles in their professional and personal lives and contribute to the organization’s diversity in terms of background and business experience. The board takes great responsibility in setting policy and procedures and maintaining financial strength while supporting staff who run the day to day operations of the utility.
BEC’s seven-member board represents all walks of life and resides in communities and neighborhoods throughout the BEC service territory. Since 1938, BEC employees, guided by the board of trustees, have made a supreme effort to balance fiscal responsibility with the goal of improving the lives of those whom they serve.
